thoughts

About a year ago, I got the sweetest email from my college roommate, Bethany. Bethany is a stay at home mom who in her previous life was a 2nd Grade Teacher. Beth is one of the most creative and sweet people that exist on the planet. Her little boy, John, is almost 3 and he is a pistol!

Ah, I regress...Anywho, at the end of the email that I received from Beth it said 'PS-I caught 2 fish this week. One at the nursing home with John and one at the Rodney Howard Brown Conference." What she was saying was that she had the privilege of leading someone to the foot of the cross to accept Jesus as their personal savior. See, she and John go the the nursing home every week to minister to the people who live there. John sings songs and hugs people. It's his "ministry."

I thought of this email this morning when I read the following quote here on a blog of a guy who went to college at Lee during the same time I did.

"You can conclude ambition is a bad thing, but like blaming the gas for fueling the car of a drunk driver or even blaming the alcohol, the problem isn’t ambition, it is what we are ambitious for.' Erwin McManus, “Soul Cravings” Entry 6, Section 2

What are we ambitious for? My hope, is that we, like Bethany and John, would be ambitious to go and do the work of the Father. My hope is that as we begin to cast out our nets that we will see the miraculous hand of God at work in our everyday lives and in the lives of those to whom we are ministering.

Be blessed today!

Love you guys!
Amy
